Default New to the teg scene, I need some help.

So I just moved to AZ from New York. I sold my cars before I left. I was on the hunt for a cheap car to get me buy till I can afford an S2k.

A friend of mine works at a dealership down here, he calls me up about two days ago and tells me to come check this teg out they just brought in on trade. They got $2000 on trade in which means Ill be paying about $2600 and its mine. I was looking at the car and walked around to the back and noticed something that made me very happy. The DOHC VTEC badge.

Now I am kinda new to the teg scene, am I right by assuming this is a GSR? I have only worked on and built Civics and Accords so far so this will be my first Acura. So is this thing a GSR? If it is this is one hell of a deal, from when I get GSRs go for about 2-3 times that. By the way, it’s a 95, Dark green, 5 speed, tan leather, sunroof, spoiler, and the 5 spokes. Very clean car, decently low miles. So is this worth it?

Thanks guys!
Tim

sounds like a gsr.....pop the hood to tell for sure....if the valve cover says dohc vtec then yes......check the badge on the block of the motor too (to the left of the exhaust manifold by the tranny). Should say b18c1, eigther way 2600 for a good condition gsr is a freaking steal...

Awesome, that’s just what I wanted to hear. Yeah I am sure it’s a GSR now, I know it’s got the B18C1 but I was not sure if that was the only model it came in, but after more research I figured it out. Yeah I would say this is like one of those once in a life times deals. I remember that I paid about $2000 for my b16 that I swapped into my civic and here I am getting a GSR for $600 more… craziness. I am just glad my buddy saw this thing and called me the very second they brought it in on trade. Thanks for you help guys. Ill post pics as soon as I get it home this week.

Tim

P.s. I am a huge fan of the Apex-i World Sport Exhaust. I had the first series on my Civic, dose anyone know if the Apex-i W.S. 2 sound just about the same? I hate, HATE, loud exhaust and I loved the WS on my civ… any opinions?

Yeah it pulls just like my b16 did… The guy that owned it before was a computer programmer and took extremely good care of it. The seats have been covered the whole life of the car so the seats are like new along with everything else. No stains, rips, or even dirt for that matter. All I need now is some more cash and I can start to go to work on it. I got a few turbos still from my other projects but I am not sure what I want to do on this one, NA of FI… not sure… Ill just drive it for a while stock till I make some extra cash. Again I cant believe this car fell into my lap like this… like a dream come true haha. If only it was an S2K.

No, it's sounds like a GS-R. The SE has a badge, but is says "Special Edition" and it's not VTEC.
