Default Exhaust systems question

Ive got a 97 civic and planning to buy an exhaust. With the almost unlimited differnent amount of aftermarket exhausts. I am wondering does it really make a difference which aftermarket exhaust i buy? I was looking at greddy evo2 or evott ( even though im going N/A), Apexi GT spec, or Tanabe Ultra medallion. Which exhausts do you people prefer?

i dont think any aftermarket exaust system you can feel a big difference. at most changing from stock to complete exaust system(piping and all) then maybe you will feel a bit of more power, but not much, you can maybe feel a bit more when you change your headers along with the exaust system. only way to find out what puts out the most power is slap it on and dyno it.

thanks for all the help, yea i plan on changing the engine to gsr so i cant buy the headers jsut yet. A big factor im trying to find out about is sound. I know i wont get much power from just changing the exhaust, so im looking for the sound. I dont like exhausts that sound like a lawn mower at high rpms, i prefer the deep sounding notes

i had a greddy evo in a 94 gsr with custom 2.5" piping from stock gsr headers to muffler and resenator in the middle. and it was not like a lawn mower noise at all. it was deep all the way to 8k rpm. again it was too loud for my taste. a friend of mine had magna flow muffler on stock pippings and stock headers and it was quietier than mine.

its up to you if you want loud or quiet. but overall on honda engines at high rpm especially when vtec kicks in you hear all sorts of sounds .

I've been doing some searching myself because I just swapped in a B18C in my 1997 civic hatch and I'm planning on purchasing the T1R Power Exhaust. Check it out, there are some links to sound clips etc. I was either going to go with the HKS carbon Ti exhaust but compared to the T1R heard its abit louder..... I plan to have a daily driveable car at the same time.

So depending if you want your car to be daily driveable which i assume, then think about how loud or deep you want your exhaust to sound at the same time. But anyways, from what i've heard, T1R provides PERFORMANCE and reasonable sound level. Thats my input

thanks everyone, yea i like the deep sound. my friends exhaust is a deep note, but its too loud and he got pulled over twice for his exhaust. He only got warnings though. I want this car to be a daily driver so i cant have anything too loud that would wake the neighborhood lol.
