Buddy of mine is getting a honda finally and it's a 93 automatic integra gs coupe with the b18a1 with no mods. I have a d16y8 ex 5spd with basic mods. He is dieing to race me so he can say he has the faster car than me. From your guys experience, do you you think i have the winning side here or not?

you'll win. period. i've raced too many automatics to know they're slow. I also have a 90 integra RS auto sitting in my driveway. its cant handle my friends d16z6.

automatics have too long of gears, and the torque converter takes a small chunk out of power output as well.

oh yea we had race between an 93 civic d16z6 with a crappy tranny and a 96 integra 4dr auto b18b with intake.

the d16z6 grinded into 2nd before it would go in and it still took out the b18b auto by 1 car. this was up to 60mph.

It will be the special olympics. LMAO. Two retarded wannabes racing. And that's why i'm not serious about the race and i really don't want to do it, but it just crossed my mind and i wanted to see if any of you here have had experience with these two engines against each other.

I actually don't own the ef anymore, i sold it. The d16 is stock in my 99 ek.

 

The d16y8 will come out on top in this race. When I had just an intake a while ago I raced an automatic 99 integra gs with an intake and exhaust and I rolled out on him from a dig and a roll. Nothing to be proud of though.

i 2nd that... my mildly modded D15B kicks the **** outta LS's all day... 5 speeds btw.. I couldnt imagine what i'd do to an automatic hahaha... Driver/Motor combos sometimes are deadly it just all depends whos the genius behind both, sometimes i'll race SI's an GSR's an stay head up with'm sometimes i get killed an seldomly ill take them for a run for there money, it all depends on tons of different things, but dont play the numbers game it never is accurate... Same as saying how does my 162hp single cam ride on 250hp mustangs..??? Never accurate like i said, all on the engine an the driver... Good Luck though, hope u kick his ***...
