Hey Gang,

I was driving my car today and at the first stop light I came to and stopped the idle dropped way down, and in a few seconds it just died. I turned the key over and it fired right up. I have noticed the idle sometimes goes very low, low enough to cause the battery light to come on, but it has never died on me till today.

It's a 2001 with 17k miles...and it's bone stock ?

I would like to know what it is...so I can take it to the dealer knowing what is wrong.

Just take it to Crown and make them fix it. A bone-stock car shouldn't be doing that

 

True.....I just would like to know what it is?

I have a roll abr and harnesses in the car...so they will **** I am sure and say it's not covered, BUT.....you are right it shouldn't be doing this.

Yep, you guessed it. I saw you one morning fairly early heading north on battleground near the Biscuitville.

BTW, I never drive mine which is why you've never seen it. It actually looks more like a Special Edition

 

cool.....no problem in that. I usually only drive it to the track or on the weekends. I did daily it for about 6 months when I first got it, I just drive my truck now.

I didnt even post what I wanted to say about the problem I was drooling soo much!
this happened to my friend and He went to the dealer and told him to F-off b/c he had a cold air on his but he just went to auto zone and got this stuff (liquid wrench maybe ) and sprayed it into the throttle body until the motor died then sprayed a little more after death of car, waited 3 minutes and the car fired right up and the low RPM dips stopped and havnt happend again

My car changed a lot when I replaced the cap and rotor. (~27,000)

it did not die... but funny idle/throttle pickup = me looking into the electrical system.

plugs = normal wear
wires = no issues
rotor = slight wear on the arc surface
cap = all 4 prongs showed wear/buildup

replace cap/rotor = just fine.

I did replace the air filter at the same time... so that may have had a part

Interesting....I just replaced my air filter a few weeks ago...then this problem showed up....that wouldn't have anything to do with it?....or would it....
