Default Quick dust ring/boot (on hub) question. b18 swap

I removed the dust rings from the axles but forgot to take out the dust ring out of the hubs. so is there a way to loosen the axle nut, pull the shaft back a little, and cut the dust ring out so that i don't have to take everything apart again?

im going to try to do it this way tomorrow and hopfully i can save myself some time.

its the last thing i need to do to get this crx b18 running. im really excited haha.

thanks

I suppose you could do it the way you suggested, but honnestly, take out the lower shock tower bolt that goes through the lower control arm pull the LCA up away from the hub (this may take some work if you havent done it before search for the best method) and then pop the axle out and take off the dust ring. Easy as pie. Ive done axles so many times my record in and out is under just under 15 min including a tranny fluid change.

Good luck and have fun with the swap.

i was thinking about doing it that way, the only problem is the bolt on the pass side is seized. i mean really seized. i already tried removing that one, no luck at all.

if i can't just pull the axle out a little i think i will just take the lca balljoint out and the tie rod if i have to.

well see, im going right now to do it.

tnx for the advice, i might use it on the drivers axle.

got it out. the drivers side dust ring was actually seized onto the axle haha, pryed off pretty easy.

to get the axle out for removal of the dust ring i just undid the LCA ball joint, since i just put it on the other day it came out easy.

tnx for the help
