Default everyone read, crx vs. bear yo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so get this, im driving up 330 at a decent speed, i look down the canyon to see where my friends at, i hear andy in the passenger seat of my car say "bear", i glance over as hes yelling "A ****** BEAR!" i yell the same and swerve as hard as my car would, he hit me while i was going 65 about, he took off somewhere. i immediatly put on my flashers and crept up to a turn out, cursing the whole time, "I hit a ****** bear" (i cussed alot, sorry) anyways i get out to notice, that my door is dented, the handle is broken a little, and i dented the rear quarter right above the wheel well, not bad considerin when i looked at the bear, i couldnt see his whole body through my freakin windshield! MY FREAKIN WINDSHIELD! were guessing that he had to weigh as much or more than my car, my car being 2200 lbs, becasue when my friends went to go look for the bear, they saw 2 foot long skid marks, sideways, that my car left. so in my entire live time of living up in big bear, this is the first bear i saw, and the first i hit. so a tip to all little car drivers, watch out for bears there out for you. ill try to get pics of the damage. and to top it off i was in a damn good mood to becasue i just bought a freakin trust muffler for my car

If I were you bro I'd be thankful. Hitting a bear, you might aswell hit a brick wall.
Plus, isn't killing a bear illegal? IDK, I'd assume so, their endangered right? I'll stop....

Can you say what kind of bear it was...it would help determine a realisitc weight. 2200lbs is out of the question.

Southern California? Probably a black bear or black bear sub species. I did 3 years on biology/pre vet degree...I'm going on memory but you're roughly looking at:

Male: 200 - 500 lbs.
Female: 100 - 300 lbs.
Very well fed bears (like in captivity) can be heavier. The record was something like 800lbs.

A brown bear/grizzly is highly unlikely but for reference, they are larger
males: 500 - 1200 lbs
females: 250 - 800 lbs

And an additional holy **** fact, Polar bears weigh up to 1500 lbs with the record holder being just over 2200 lbs...about what your hatch weighs.

yeah im probably exaderating about the weight, but if i didnt have my friend in the car, i would have thought it was a boulder, not a bear. and the only reason i apologized for swearing is copy pasted it fom my myspace. so by your guesstimates, it was probably like a 4 to 500 punder, i dont know, even though i live up where i might know a little aobut that, i dont know anything about bears, i know it was big, and i know theres a car at least 200 feet behind me and he didnt see anyhting, so that bear probably wasnt even hurt by that. i also wrote this right after i got up the hill, so i was still a little shocked

I don't see how you could hit a bear and not hurt it, unless it did a flying drop kick on your car. In that case you should have stayed out of his ******* territory. Unless you were baked and sideswiped a tree or something.

Was there any blood?

since he only side swiped it i can't see it hurting the bear all that much.

did you happen to have a pic-a-nic basket in your car?

i had a pic-a-nic basket, and my friend was hoilding out the window yelling "hey boo boo!" lol well when you see the pics, youll be surprised how not damaged it is, considering i hit a bear, so i dont hink it could have hurt him that much, basically like a big punch to the kidneys or somehting

but ya.... maybe if your car was like lowered to the ground you coulda went like right underneath him. but as long as the car is ok everything is fine

problem is the car is not ok... you should so ****** hunt that bear down and sue his *** for denting your car
