Default rebuilding front forks

so.... I need to rebuild my front forks. one of the seals is going bad and makes a clicking sound. isn't leaking yet but it's annoying and needs to be fixed... SO! because I'm not one that enjoys paying someone else to do something I can very well do... I'd like to know how hard it is to rebuild the front forks. Hardest part I see is getting a fork stem stand... But other then that how hard? I'm putting in racetech springs and hopefully gold valve kit as well while I'm at it.

Good to know I'm not the only one. The smell of fork oil makes me nauseous.

hmm... maybe I'll just have the shop do it... there's some things that are better left to them. plus if it gets fucked up it's their fault

Just take your forks off and bring 'em in. Shops usually charge extra to remove your forks. It's real easy to do, too.

I was able to get my front end in the air by putting my back tire againts the curve and then jacking the bike from the engine on the front the placing a jack stand. your bike will balance itself on the jack stand, kickstand, and rear tire, worked for me when i did it. Ghetto but it works.

Also, if you have the garage to do it, you can use tiedowns to support the triple tree from above.

What kind of front stand do you have now?
