What are the symptoms of a failing cam chain tensioner?
So, I've read somewhere that the Japenese Inline fours start to have problems with their cam chain tensioners after around 15,000 miles. I was just wondering how you can tell when it is starting to fail.
I checked a parts site and those parts for my bike are all backordered

For Honda's, you can hear a rattle in the lower rpm's (~5k). It'll get louder and louder. I'm having this issue at 7k miles, so I'll be getting the APE manual tensioner.

It was most noticeable in my bikes when decelerating with the throttle closed or partly closed.
I highly recommend APE manual versions. They require adjustment once a year (under normal conditions).

Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely look into having this done over the winter
