ok quick question were swapping out my friends axles on his 97 gsr and he wants to replace the seals

he got the pass side already but is there a seal on the half shaft????? that should be replaced or just take out the half shaft and replace the that drivers side seal that goes in the tranny??? cause i thought theres a seal on the halfshaft?//

there is a seal on the intermediate shaft...one there and one on the passenger side of the tranny

 

ok so just get the seal for the halfshaft then???? and drive it in?

 

yea there are only two axle seals...if you replaced the passenger side on...just replace the half shaft seal now

 

heres the seals you need:



Number 16 - part # 91205-PC9-711



number 19 - part # 91205-PL3-A01

 

well i know theres a seal on the drivers side that the half shaft goes into but is there a seal where the axle goes into the halfshaft that should be replaced?

23 looks to be a cover of some sort for the bearing...ive never replaced it ever....and cant see why would you....there isnt any oil on the other side...its a sealed bearing....and it mates to the axle....

change the two in the tranny and youll be a.o.k.
