So i got my car alligned at midas after i lowered it and 3 motnhs later my inside tires are bald on the front. I have a skunk 2 camber kit up front. I got to get it re allinged and they tell me they cand do it because the car has been bottomed out which took the aliignment outa spec. Is that possible with bottoming out?

they wouldnt even check my specs on the allignment without charging me money, and i asked for some sort of record of my first aliignment and they said their printer dosnt work on the allignment machine. DONT TRUST THE MIDAS TOUCH

so could the allignment get outa spec by bottoming out the car. The only time i really bottomed it out i was goin like 1mph.
Of course they wont do it for free. Time is money in the world of mechanics. We get paid by the job, and I'll tell you right now that I sure as hell would not stop what I was doing to check some whiny kids alignment for free.
And yes, you can damage your car when you bottom out. You obviously don't understand what is underneath it. A shop is not obligated to give you a printout of your alignment specs, and they do not save them. We do between 30 and 60 alignments a week. Do you have any idea how many files we would have to keep just to show morons that we know what we are doing when they come back and whine about something?
So here is what you do. Find out what you broke when you bottomed out, replace the damaged parts and then go get it aligned.
Oh and just because you have a camber kit does not mean that your camber can be adjusted back into spec. Most of the time it can get close but without roll center adjusters you will not have a very good chance of getting it perfect again.

It doesn't matter where you get it. Anywhere that offers it. Midas is not screwing you over. You, like most people on the planet just don't understand how a car really works, so you get pissy and assume that you are right and know more than the people whom do it for a living.

A recessed lift? you don't do an alignment on a lift. And I bet you can get your car on an alignment rack, its jsut a ramp.

So since you are obviously smarter than mechanics and know more about this than me, why dont you find a recessed life capable of an alignment.
Go away.

I did answer your question. Try reading.
YES IT CAN GO OUT OF SPEC BY YOU BOTTOMING OUT. BUT if you have wear on the inside of your tires than that is a CAMBER ISSUE. FIX YOU ****, then get it aligned.
Clear enough for you?

The if its a chamber issue explain this. My rear wheels are visibaly slightly tilted, and the tires are wearing pretty damn even. My front wheels do not look tilted at all and the tires are bald on the inside.

Were your tires rotated? Were they allready worn that way?
You obviously don't understand what alignment angles actually are. Incorrect toe will cause a scrubbing or feathering wear ALL the way across the tire. Camber will cause either inside or outside edge tire wear.

inside tire wear is more of a toe issue than a camber issue. camber does play a role in it though

No it's not. In any way at all. I do this for a living. Every day I see this stuff and have to diagnose it. You show me how toe can cause smooth wear on one edge of a tire only.
You probalby think caster causes tire wear too don't you? I'm sick of know it alls.

I get paid to know this stuff. He said he had wear on the inside edge of his tire, he didn't say that it was featherd, cupped or scrubbed. He also said his car was lowered, which causes negative camber. Toe causes feathering across the tire. So you can whine and swear all you want. Go ahead get all pissed off. Your wrong, I'm right. And until you can prove otherwise, which you can't, that is the way it is going to be.
Grow up.

i was just checkin the tire wear on da front. seems like the outside edge is evenly worn and the inside ednge evenly worn as well. But like i said, the front wheels visibably dont look tilted, and if there was slight camber i dont think it would bald my insides over 2 months. I put a penny in the thread to chech the wear on the outside edge of ther front tires. With the penny so that licolns head was upside down the thread came up to his head.
