Default My First Integra. Before I Begin My Project...

This past thursday, some guy ran into the rear end of my 97 Honda Civic and screwed it all up. So now, I bought a 94 Acura Integra LS off my pops. The only thing is the motor has 205,000 miles on it. I was planning to build it and go all-motor but before I do that, should I do something I do anything to the motor? Someone a while back said something about cleaning the carbon build-up. Anyways, any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

congrats on the teg...dont worry bout the miles just yet..i have a94 gsr with 209K on the bottom end, but it has a gude racing head..just do good and frequent oil changes, you might get a oil pressure guage to keep and eye on the pressure so if theres some changes you will know you might have bearing isues...but for the long run i would get a rebuild and get a vtec head and you will be amazed....good luck

sea-foam it, then change the oil, plugs and possibly dizzy cap, rotor, plug wires
if it was owned by an old man, it shouldn;t have been beat on too hard.
gl w/ the project

BTW, if your neighbors dont hate you already, they are REALLY gonna hate you after you seafoam your car, especially one with that many miles on it.

Seafoam is like a enema for your car. The Seafoam does a really good job of getting carbon build ups off.

With that much mileage sea foam could very well make the car leak oil. Alot of times those deposits are the only thing holding a good seal. Compression and Leakdown Test it, change the T belt, water pump and tensioner, cam seals, tranny fluid, oil and roll the hell out.

i'll be sure to do all of that. the car is still pretty much stock so it'll be a while for the pics. oh yeah, since i'm here, i know this has probably been discussed a billion times before, but is there a difference between the 94-97 and 98-01 front bumpers, and if so, are they interchangeable? also, will the 01 tail lights fit on my 94 teg? sorry if this is annoying but it's my first integra. thanks.

yes, all of the parts from 94-01 are interchangeable. but if you get the 98+ bumper you'll need the 98+ headlights, otherwise it'll have a big gap with the 97 and down headlights, the 98+ tail lights should go in with no problem.

In 94-97 yes, I have the JDM signals which are amber on the inside and clear on the outside. The USDM are all amber. In 98-01 they are all the same. I love my JDM signals.
