Default Recommended Throttle Body

Hello to all...

My stepson is considering purchasing a throttle body for gis '96 Integra GSR and was wondering if he could get some recommendations from those of you who have equipped your Integra with a TB. He was also wondering if the BBK 70mm throttle body would be a good choice?

Thanks to all for your help,

David

Please tell us what else has been done to the motor. A throttle body would be one of the last things you'd do to a car to get two or three HP with tuning, HP that might make the difference in winning a race.

It won't give you the most HP/dollar unless you're at the end of the development trail.

Hello,

Quite honestly, I didn't realize that a Tb upgrade would net so few HP. That being the case, what do you recommend should be done to the engine from a-z? Currently. he's only replaced the air intake, upgraded the exhaust and has headers ready to be installed. He also was wondering about who sells the best intake manifold for the GSR and how difficult it is to install it.

Thanks for your thoughts. It's very much appreciated.

Regards,

David

Skunk 2, bbk, OBX, all make a great intake manifold. but i wouldn't recommend a intake manifold on a gsr until some internal work is done. At least a mild cam upgrade. You can pick up ITR/CTR cams for fairly cheap if you look around. If you do get a single plenum intake manifold you will lose some power down lower in the RPMS and gain it up top like 6-8K with a bolton GSR. Like i said, go with a cam upgrade (along with valve retainers and dual springs) before the throttle body or intake manifold to maximize the power gains with a new manifold and/or throttle body.

yea my friend had a gsr with all the boltons and just a intake manifold and TB.... and i have a 90 teg RS with just a clutch, skunk 2 cams, and intake.... and i was smoking him all day so i wouldnt recommend getting just an intake manifold or TB untill you modify more

So you are trying to say your non-vtec RS with cams and an intake was smoking a GSR with all the boltons......
