Molykote for the brake pads...necessary?

Default Molykote for the brake pads...necessary?

I dont have any..and i have my pads in my hand..i want to go change them now since its nice and my brakes are pretty much dead..

is the molykote necessary?
if so, where might i get it? i would imagine the honda/acura parts dept ?

I just went to the local auto store and got some anti-sieze paste and put that on the back of the pads. This is per TypeRmsm's reccommendation (sp?).

it's not necessary, but you may have some additional squealing happen because the back of the pad will shift slightly against the caliper. Anti-squeal doesn't mean much if you have aggressive pads that are going to squeal like a pig anyway - lol

My Hawk HP+ pads sound horrible. Everyone thinks I am a cheap bastard who won't buy new brakes.

And when I say they are racing brakes, they look at me like I'm some rice boy.

Ignore them man......I'll take a little squeak (I run them on the street too) & shorter braking distance anyday.

HPS are a good stock upgrade without the squeak if it bothers you.
