Is the tranny off the B18 s1 cable tranny the same as the B16 s1 tranny..what are the differences and similarity..

 

they are different..

b16 s1 tranny is shorter geared and has a high final drive,,better for acceleration..

 

^^^ Correct Most parts are interchangeable s-1 to s-1. Gears must be changed in matched sets and the ratios are completely different.

 

b16 tranny is the way to go... ratios tell it all... depending on what your motors capable of, watch out for the gears because they will come fast... eyes on rpm bro

 

thanks guys..im in need of a new tranny, but i saw a s1 for sale..not so sure if its b16 or LS..thats why im asking..i thought they were the same..

 

Buyer beware...only way to tell is to crack it open and count the teeth on the shaft gears. I have a lot of customers who bring me "suppossed" JDM trannies and I have to be the bearer of bad news and tell them they've been had!
