Default B16/auto from del sol to 95 civic

Hi, i'm new here. I own a 93 rx7 but i'm looking into getting a 95 Honda Civic for a Daily Driver. I've owned one before and it was a great car. Here's my question.

I want a auto civic for convience. I heard the Del Sol has a B16 with a auto transmission. Can i swap a B16a with a auto Del Sol Tranny into a 95 honda civic? I would want a good 140-160hp out of this car (mod's at most will be springs/shock combo with camber correction, intake, headers, exhaust).

I know it's kind of a wierd combo but it's what i want. Here's some pics of my cars (rx7 and my sold Civic that i miss) :D Thanks in advance! C.T.

Thanks for the quick reply! If anyone else wants to chime in i appercate all advice :D

I do miss the Civic. My rx7 is a maintence nightmare. If i get a boost spike past 14psi i get a blown motor, if i overheat once i get a blown motor, i have 100 point for a boost hose to disconnect and cause boost problems. Don't get me wrong. It's WONDERFUL sports car and i think it's worth the trouble. However, the Honda Civic is much easier to maintain and is reliable. I'd like the best of both worlds :D C-ya!

(hehe, i know my old Civic was "ricy" but i completed it when i was 17. I think i'll just get a nice CF lip and that'll be the end of that)

just stock body and some 15s or 16s and coilovers and maybe a lip is all ya need on your next honda and it will look eleventy billion times better than your first one

dont forget the madd vtec

seems like you have taste, as long as that purple civic doesnt come back. Civics are great....mines at 238 000 on the original B16A3 in my sol...i love it and i understand why u'd want one. Get a SI civic, it'll be pre-wired for VTEC. Also, all Del Sols are pre wired.

Umm, you do know that only foreign del sols had automatic tranny's right? You don't find automatic B16's in the states.

Whatever you decide to do, dont make your second civic look like the first one

Due to the extreme "ricyness" of my old civic i decided to take the picture off so i can get some answers pertaining to my question :D

I understand i have other options. I heard b18's have a auto tranny somewhere . . . . prolly in J-Land. Thanks.

D'oh!

As far as the topic, yes, it'll work, everything i say after this is just stuff to look into because i'm not positive. Automatic axels, automatic tranny mounts, automatic ECU, automatic wiring harness need to be used, again, stuff to keep in mind because i'm not positive if i'm correct.

So you went out of your way to prove something that wasn't disputed?

actually ive got a front clip from a del sol like that auto and everything lol, i was working on getting it into my 92 hatchback, but im coming up short of cash in a bad way so im trying to sell it all now, but anyways i was doing the same thing and ive got most of my parts collected up all i have to do is get the right mounts, which in not sure about, add in the auto wiring harness and i should be good to go. so good luck with your swap let me know how it turns out, unless you want to come get my stuff and take it over lol.

Im not trying to prove anything...i used the wrong words. I was just showing that B16s were made in auto in Japan, just thought that was kinda cool, but not really.

Yup, there are LS automatics, thought i scored a B18 at a redneck junkyard dirt cheap until i checked it out and it was an automatic.

Sure was, the "VTEC" (literally the model name) was a B16

Yep. However a B16A2/B16A3 from a DSV came with a Y21/S21 5-speed transmission.

I'd say his best hope for getting a B-series with an auto is to get both from an LS. Probably could bolt up an LS auto to a B16, but the B16 has a hard enough time getting off the line with the short gears in the S21.
