Default One Lap of America !!

Anyone keeping up with the One Lap of America??
I was helping out my friend Jon K. and Martin M. in the AMS EVO VIII and my friend Karl Troy in his Ultima GTR. Right now the EVO VIII is in 3rd place and the Ultima GTR is in 6th place overall.
It looks like a CLOSE race in the Mid Priced Sedan class between the Top Speed WRX STI and the AMS EVO VIII. Only 40 points separating both cars with AMS ahead of the Top Speed guys and only one day left which is the Dry Skid Pad in South Bend Indiana.
Here is some videos and pictures that are updated everyday and sometimes up to every hour. http://www.lake-effect-racing.com. They are traveling with the One Lap of America getting in depth with the race itself as in Interviews, In Car camera views and so forth....
The Honda Civic SI is sitting in 5th place overall which is a neat little car. I was talking to the Co-driver which they are from Honda Corp in Ohio and the car is around 260 hp but he wouldn't say anything else since he works for Honda itself.
Plus the Honda Oddessey Van is doing quite well or was early in the event.

Watch the "dale's roof cam vid."

That is the most exaggerated "rain line" I've ever seen. Embarrassing.

I went and worked the corners at NPR on Monday when they were down here in Louisiana.
Lot of nice cars but not all that exotic. I think I will have to go and run this one year, looks like a good time.

Well it's separated in to Classes such as the GT1 Category Big Bore Class, GT1 Small Bore Class, Mid Priced Sedan Class, Economy Class, SUV Class, Vintage Class and so on. The main thing is all the cars are competing for the Overall victory no matter what Class you are in which they had some Stiff competition this year. The 996 TT won this year AGAIN and the Twin Turbo Z06 came in 2nd place. The AMS EVO finished 3rd Place overall and almost overtook 2nd place. The AMS EVO though had no shot into accumulating enough points to take 1st place overall since the 996 Porsche was consecutively finishing up front. My friend in the Ultima GTR had some problems at the end of the race but still finished 6th place overall.
Im seriously thinking of entering in the SUV class with my 90 Dodge Caravan 2.5 Turbo , tune it and then get it race prepped by 2008. I need to go around and get some track time at some of the tracks most frequently raced for the One Lap of America so I can be competitive. I don't want to be in the back of the pack all the time but there will be no way I will win overall in that Van. The other Vans this year finished well and where in the Top 25 out of 100 but dropped off as the week progressed.
