Default disc conversion on an EG ??s

I've read several how tos and seems fairly straight forward. But I would like input from people that have done it themselves. How hard is it really? and what problems did you run into?

I am fairly mechanically inclined and have installed several minor bolt on parts myself, but nothing to this magnitude. I know how to bleed brakes and change the pads/rotors but I'm still skeptical of being able to do this entire project myself.

Also can I use the brake lines from the drums on the discs(I upgraded them to SS lines and if possible would like to reuse them)

One last thing, does anybody know of a link with pics for a rear disc swap?)all the ones in the FAQ section are expired or something)

I done it about a year ago. It wassn't real hard. It's a process of unbolting and bolting on. You should have a friend help you hold up the trailing arm while you bolt it up.

First thing, the tar underneath the car is a pain and it got stuck in my hair. Safety glasses might be usefull as a lot of **** falls down. There are three bolts on each side for the ebrake cable, make sure you have the right length in the right hole. You don't know how long I was trying to put a short bolt in where a long one should go in. That's basically the only major problem I had was bolting up the ebrake cable.

You can only use brake lines that come on the rear disks. The drum ones won't work.

thanks! Yeah I figured I wouldn't be able to use the drum lines but they are SS so I thought I should ask before just tossing them. So fairly easy as long as all the bolts stay in the right places then? I'm still not tto sure about doing it myself, but I don't really want to pay a shop almost 300 either .

It's really easy. Bolt off, bolt on, bleed brakes, and go.

Not hard at all man, you shouldn't have any problems if you have the opposable thumb required to hold a wrench and know how to bleed the brakes.

Sounds good. I'll be installing new pads/rotors tommorrow and then starting everything monday morning after my final. Should I be able to do the conversion in only 1 day? I read through all the DIYs I found but none of them mentioned how long it would take.

Took me about 2-3 hours. Pretty much did everything myself. Only had a friend help me hold up the trailing arm.

I'll also e getting new rear ss lines, honda doesn't seem to sell just the rubber lines by themselves both by going online and talking with the dealer . but other than that everything is going fairly smooth so far.
