Default Do I need a Baffles for my 5 1/4?

I am trying to install 5 1/4 speakers in the rear deck of my 95 Civic. I went to Pep boys and they carry baffles for 5 1/4 speakers for $10. Do I need these for better sound quality in the rear deck area?

Also anyone know of a good store that sells audio equipment? Pep Boys did not carry Grills for 5 1/4 speakers and niether did Best Buy or Circuit City.

most of the time the speaker will come will the grills, some don't sometimes-like infinity refrence series or some. If not your going to have to order them thru your speaker's company. On your civic why not just install them behind your factory ones? To install your 5.25 your going to needto make some plates to get them mounted. Most likely out of mdf. So they can fit the factory location. If you don't have the tools nessasary to do it. you can find some at your local stereo shop, or bb or cc.

My civic doesnt have any factory stock speakers. Its just the fiberboarding in the back covered with fabric. I am going to have to cut a hole in it and then place the grills over the hole I cut.

buy 6.5" not 5.25"s dont waste your time doing a speaker that is sub par to what should be in there. 6.5" are the ideal mid for cars. We have factory speaker grill replacements for eg civic at my work metra part number 85-7802. You will have to go to a real car audio shop to get them though. If you cant find them I would be glad to sell you a pair as a last resort. If so PM me. HTH
