I tried a search and it was tough because I couldn't search "AC or A/C". I used "air, conditioning, air conditioning, compressor, blah blah blah".

All I found were questions about B-series and D-series, which are obvious. But can you use eg/ek compressors interchangeably or do the lines not match up?

If by EK you are referring to 96-00 civics, keep in mind that there are two kinds of compressors made for the 99-00 models - D and B series (dx/lx/ex v. si) compressors are different. I wish I could tell you more, but I won't know for sure until I install AC into my car next week.

hey, ive been told any d-series compressor works so long as it's r134a.

btw did you get your system recharged? where at? i'm in san jose too. need to install my new compressor and then get a leak check and recharge. let me know if u can thx

 

yes EG/EK a/c compressors are interchangable for d-series motors.
as far as for b series. you can use the P54 del sol bracket or the P7J CRV bracket to continue to use the d-series compressor. as for the b-series compressor. you'll have to find away to interchange the a/c charge lines. or have someone make you one.

sorry dude,i take that back. i'm pretty damn sure VTEC and non-VTEC are different.
