Default starting issues

i have a 2000 Civic LX and when there is less than 1/2tank of gas, the car doesnt want to start. with more than 1/2tank of gas, it starts easily, instantly at the turn of the key. but with less than 1/2 it takes a few seconds of cranking for it to finally turn over.

my initial guess is the fuel pump?
can someone help me out.
thanks

Default Re: starting issues (ConceptS14)

My car has this issue regardless of how much gas I have in the tank - I have a gsr swap in a civic. What I do is turn the key to the last notch (so that all dash lights, etc turn on), let it prime for 3-4 seconds and then turn the key full turn to start. Works like a charm every time.
