Im looking to quiet my exhuast down a bit- its a 2.5" catback ebay special. I like the hole ES oval style but am thinking about trying a summit muffler as they are alot cheaper- http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku

Should i try this out or should i get a resonator?

 

any help? im tired of the annoying loudness and people giving me weird looks

That basicly *is* a resonator. Its a glasspacked (fiberglass can technically be considered ceramic) straight-through muffler. People usually run a normal resonator and one of these w/a turbo, and they aren't too loud. With an NA setup, it will be loud enough to get tickets, but should sound better than a cheap fart can w/resonator.

 

If you get one of those, you mine as well get a Cherry Bomb from Autozone for half the price.

and both will probably still be loud. Like my Magnaflow oval.

 

lol alright so scratch the idea on that muffler- are the ES mufflers really that quiet to justify the price however? I want my exhuast to sound like a RSR

 

I've heard ES Ovals and they're actually quiet. I don't know how. Well the kid had a B16 with resonators and it was 2.25 pipping so maybe thats why

 

ive decided im going to go with a es oval and a 18" resonator so im hoping that it will reduce that horrid drone

 

i bought one of the summit 2.5" turbo mufflers for $15, i am trying to get it on this weekend. shoudl sound good with just a cherry bomb and that, kinda wanted it to be quit. i picked one up for a friend at teh same time and he has his on already and it sounds sweet, not ricey at all.
