Default 2001, 4k miles, $21k ITR ....

I thought I'd share with you guys this find. In the local newspaper there is a 2001 PY, ITR with 4,000 miles. The car is supposedly bone-stock and in showroom-like condition. The dealer wants $21k for the car which seems reasonable to me as long as the car is in good-a-shape as he claims.

I had a laugh when I called and the dealer told me this car is "that special Acura with the racing parts and the cool red engine" ... hehe !!!

I'm planning to take a trip and see the car in person this weekend and hopefully have pics for you guys. Note that this is Puerto Rico where I paid $34,500 for my R back in 2001 right off the showroom.

If this thread seems unappropriate to you mods, feel free to delete or lock ...

They should be able to certify it also!!! If its at a Honda/Acura dealership that is.

Brand new cars have always been alot more money in Puerto Rico than on the mainland (USA). Which makes nice late model used cars cost a fortune. That ITR is steal at 21K.

sounds like a treasure find among the dying breed. i'm wondering myself why would a dealership have it now if the previous owner apparently felt compelled to keep in mint showroom condition with that much miles all these years...gets some pics

Supply and demand....Obviously they know they have a rare car and it will sell to someone who also knows this and is willing to spend the money...Hell I bought my 01 R 2 years ago today for 19600 with 22,000 miles....

Yep .. cars in PR can be expensive .. Even though we are US territory and all, there are specific taxes that are paid when vehicles com into the island .. even when importing from stateside.

I'm not looking to buy another R, but this one sounds too good to be true .. BTW, this is NOT a Honda/Acura dealership so until I check the car in person I won't vouch for it .. besides the "cool red engine" still has my puristic mind spinnig

Damn, seems likes a fair price for a relatively mint car.
