Cranking but won't start!!!!
My brother has a 90 hatch with a b16a swapped into it. It has no check engine lights and runs perfect, but like every other day he gooes somewhere parka and comes out and his damn car won't start. Just has to sit there and crank and crank again and again til it starts. It's only sometimes though. It starts fine any other time. It's the most annoying thing. I have taken it to like two shops and paid like $200 each time and have been told it's fixed but the next day or the day after it's out of the shop, I go somewhere with him and we come out and it won't start. It's the weirdest thing. Any suggestions? I need HELP. We keep paying money for someone to say it's fixed but it's not. Oh yeah it had this problem before the swap so it's not the problem. It did it with stock motor to. Please any suggestions would be very helpful. HELP!!!!!!!!
no it sounds like a main relay after it warms up and you go somewhere and shut it off , it wont start back up . Do you hear clicking from under the dash when you are trying to start , do you hear the fuel pump priming , If its the main relay it will click and the fuel pump wont prime . more than likly if its the starter you would be hearing a horrible noise and it wouldnt be cranking over so well , you would definaltly know it was a mechanical failure somewhere
oh and if its obd0 pull the carpet back and take the plate off the sits over the ecu like you were checking for codes . When this happens again when you turn the key to the first click see iff you get one quick flash showing that there is power to the ecu . the main relay send power to the ecu and then to the fuel pump or just the ecu and that primes the fuel pump either way the main relay affects both
