Turn Signal Will Not Stop Clicking 91 Accord lxi
H E L P…I used the turn signal on my 91 Accord the other day and after it self canceled, I could continue to hear the clicking sound of the signal, not quite as loud as when I actually use the lever but clicking all the same. The front right turn signal flashes faintly with the clicking.
Does anyone have any experience what this means? Is the turn signal switch shot. On a long shot I changed the little box that actually makes the clicking sound and that was no help. Thanx In Advance for Any Advice anyone has concerning this problem.

I had a problem with my indicators. As you probably already know it's electrical which can be a huge headache. I also tried chaging the box, but like you that didn't do anything. My problem was caused by a bolt under the steering column that was shorting out 2 wires. My suggestion is take off your steering column and all the bolts that are in that area and see if that could be your situation.
I had the same exact problem in my 91 accord. It's hard to describe, but the problem is the metal contacts in the turn signal combination switch loosen up and don't disengage properly after cancelled and the electrical connection is often never broken. Your options are to disassemble the the switch, clean the contacts, and re-pinch their sides slightly so when they are at resting position they aren't making contact when they shouldn't be. Your other option is to replace the switch, of course.
Holy crap......Just experienced this and after a search, this is the post i found.
I'm goin to Honda tomorrow for a distributer O-ring. Maybe i have to get one of these switches too
So how much of a pain in the *** is it to take the column apart and replace this thing? Any hints/ideas/pointers (anything...) that could help me out? This is only my winter car so i really havnt done any work with this thing and want to keep it minimal

Ok, I have a somewhat similar problem on my 94 Accord LX - that I just experienced this morning. I went to use my left turn signal, and it now blinks super fast... which is usually a good indication that a bulb blew.... However, neither front nor rear bulbs are functioning, AND the dashboard signal indicator does not illuminate. All it does is blink super fast. The right turn signal still works as it should.
I've looked through my chiltons, and couldnt find any information about a signal relay. What could it possibly be? If its the combination switch on the column, I have no problem replacing it.. but is that even the problem?
Edit - I was able to locate a parts listing for the signal relay... I just really hope thats what it is.

Update:
Pulled the relay, still clicked.....pulled apart the combination switch. Now here's the kicker. It was burnt up inside and smelled like ISH!, cleaned up all the contacts, and put it back together the best i could (kinda forgot how it went together so if you open yours up, do 1 side at a time!!) But the sound was still there.
Replaced the combination switch ($145...kill me! ) and the problem went away. The new switch was pricey but damn is the turn signal alot smoother now it doesnt "click" into place like it used to.
So the switch was the bitch.....
All i can say is TRY and fix the old one, if not suck it up and buy the new one. My contacts had worn a groove in themselves and were unrepairable.
