Default Looking for some drag racing guidance, from a road racer?

Hi,
I know, I know. What the heck is an evil road racer doing in the drag racing forums?

I have a few racing upcoming where we'll be using standing starts, which will be a first for me. I'll admit I'm pretty clueless as to how to obtain the best standing start.

About the car and set-up: It is very mild esp. from a drag racer's perspective. The approximate wheel HP is 110 (FWD). It has a LSD, races on Hoosier DOT road racing compound tires, and that's about it. (No **** light or data acq. system)

I realize that I want to bring the rpm up and more-or-less drop the clutch once the green is shown. I also understand this is a very over simplified view of how its done the right way.

(I've been busy searching this forum, but couldn't locate previous threads that would be applicable to what I'm seeking.)

Thanks for the help!

IMO.You shouldnt bring the rpm's up to far causing you to spin, lose traction and therefore losing time to the competitor.you might want to try preloading the suspension by pulling up the e-brake.Release the clutch to where it starts to grab. Then slowly bring the rpm's up.On the green release the clutch and gas to where it starts to pull and realease the brake at the same time.its a three step process that might take some practice.good luck.
