STOCK TACH - Doesnt Work - Wire Is Intact - Why? Getting 15.1 V - Diagnose?
In my 88 Crx si, my tachometer no longer works, I had it out last summer and it worked fine, car was stored for a year and now its out, the rest of the cluster works just **** but the tach goes knowwhere
I spliced into it for my shift light before I got the car running, realized the tach wasnt working, so I unconnected the shiftlight and it still doesnt work
The tach wire was never cut, just stripped away the plastic and connected the shiftlight, what would cause this?
When I put the voltmeter on dc I think, im pulling 15.1 volts on the tach blu wire when the car is on, normal?

pu tit to a/c you should see a nice variation to the voltage that changes just like a tach would.
making this up:
idle 1.8
1/2 5.7
WOT 10
something like that should give you an idication of the output being correct. easiest way would be swapping another cluster in, but obviously not everyone has em laying around.
