EXPO 6: Chicago area Caravan
Brooke and myself (Texas) will be in Chicago few days prior from the Sunday of Expo. We will arrive there around there on June 9 (Friday). Has anybody confirmed on where we may meet up before heading out there Sunday June 11? Whatever the case be, be sure to accomodate trucks/trailers parking otherwise Wai and I will start clippin other R's to get around.
I'll be heading out there on Saturday to meet up with some of the east coast guys.

Keep in mind that Chicago area folks won't all be traveling the same way. Those in the city and close-in burbs might be heading out the Skyway (possibly taking one of the alternative routes to avoid the Dan Ryan construction), while those in further out burbs are more likely to use I-294 around the city.
Also, we're talking under two hours (it's 118 miles from the Loop to the hotel) so if we don't all drive there together, it's not as big a deal as for those who are coming from further away and driving all day.

Assuming no traffic in NW Indiana
...then we increase by 50% increments, haha.

Cheeseheads shouldn't have to leave that early to avoid traffic. Even if you leave after lunch, you should be fine. (And I know that the road work you're talking about includes I-43 through downtown Milwaukee, which was terrible in the opposite direction on Friday afternoon when I went up to Road America a couple of weeks ago, not bad at all coming back on Sunday. I assume you're going around Chicago on I-294, rather than through it and dealing with the Dan Ryan construction.)

That's fairly obvious (but the Milwaukee team - what's it called, again? - isn't much better):
National League
Central W L Pct GB
St. Louis 23 13 .639 --
Cincinnati 23 13 .639 --
Houston 21 15 .583 2.0
Milwaukee 18 18 .500 5.0
Chi Cubs 15 20 .429 7.5
Pittsburgh 11 25 .306 12.0
Of course, unlike Milwaukee, Chicago also has a winning team and reigning champion...
American League
Central W L Pct GB
Chi White Sox 23 11 .676 --
Detroit 22 13 .629 1.5
Cleveland 17 19 .472 7.0
Minnesota 16 19 .457 7.5
Kansas City 10 23 .303 12.5
The last time the Brewers won the World Series was... oh yeah, they never won one. Heck, they haven't even been in the post-season since 1982, and you can't even say that about the pathetic Cubs.
Maybe you should brag about the 4-12 Packers instead.

If you have an I-PASS, bring it. It's valid on the Tri-State Tollway (where your tolls cost less with the I-PASS) and other parts of the Illinois Tollway system, as well as on the Chicago Skyway. (For more info on I-PASS, click here.)
Here are the directions:
From the outer burbs:
Take the Tri-State Tollway I-294 south.
The Tri-State Tollway hits I-80 and becomes I-294/I-80 east.
Continue to follow I-80 east and it becomes I-80/I-94 east.
Four miles after you cross I-65, continue on I-94 east "Detroit".
(Note - you have not taken any exits yet.)
From the city and inner burbs:
Take the Dan Ryan or one of the alternate routes to the Chicago Skyway I-90 east.
The Chicago Skyway I-90 east becomes the Indiana Toll Road I-90 east.
Four miles after you cross I-65, take the exit for I-94 east "Detroit".
All drivers continue as follows:
Go 60 miles on I-94 east, and just past the exits for Benton Harbor, look for signs and take the exit for I-196 north "Grand Rapids".
Go 20 miles on I-196 north to Exit 20 "Phoenix Road". Turn right at the top of the ramp and the hotel is on your left, just behind the Shell gas station.

Traffic and parking. I'd rather go up to Milwaukee. More miles but significantly less time to get anywhere.

I'm not sure if i'll be meeting up pete and stefan in chicago or somewhere along the way, but i'll be taking the skyway most likely so i'm not quiet sure if pete and stefan will be takn the same way. So far i might be going solo on sunday unless anyone around the downtown area or skokie wants to meet up and go down there together.

Probably some time Sunday afternoon. I usually make a couple of stops on the way so I'll just meet up at the event...

I'm leaving Sunday afternoonish as well. I really haven't paid attention to caravans this year for two reasons:
-gingerman is close and I make the drive solo more times than not
-last year's caravan to expo was so beyond a disaster that I don't want anything to do w/it.
