Default 437whp 16 psi LS/VTEC dynp pics/graphs

I finally got around to tuning my good freinds LS/VTEC turbo EG hatch. Some of you may have seen it in last months Honda Tuning Magazine(may 06). This was only a pump gas session. A race gas tune is right around the corner.

437whp @ 8700rpms
273 ft. lbs.
16.8 lbs of boost 92 octane
Tuned1 tuned w/ AEM EMS

This was on 15.4 lbs. of boost

This was on 16.8 lbs. of boost

There is no ft. lbs. on this graph due to a bad tach pick up for rpm's on this run.

Probably mid 11's on slicks. He has 225 BF drag radials on the front. So as long as the car can hook on those it should be in the 11's and in the mid 120's for traps. We were going to the track tonight but its raining here in Cincinnati. Sucks maybe next weekend.

The car went 12.3 @ 120mph today on 14lbs. and street tires. Boost was down a lb or 2. The boost is controlled using a GM boost soleniod off of a Cyclone through the ems. My lap top was dead by the time we got to the track so we just ran it as it was. This was the first EVER track appearance for the car. It will only get better.

for a better accurate reading. choose Smoothing: 0 or 1 for all graphs

2nd graph. choose RPM on the Y-axis rather than speed

looks good

Smoothing takes down any huge bumps that give you artificially high numbers, and he already said he had RPM pickup issues on the second pull.........

At peak torque the boost was about 14. It creaps up about a 1 1/2 pounds from 6800 to 8700.

How can you get a horsepower number without rpm?
rpm x torque / 5252 = Hp right?

Why sleeve the block to a stock bore size?

Yep, but Dynojets actually measure horsepower, and calculate torque based on RPM's and horsepower. Mustang dynos, Dynapacks, etc, measure torque and calculate horsepower, which is why you can skew off your power readings by messing with the gear ratios in the dyno software

To have a completely bulletproof motor?

Completely wrong. You cant measure horsepower because its just a calculation. A dynapack, and every other type of dyno on this earth measures TORQUE and calculates from there. Have you ever seen a horsepower wrench? This may help you understand.

Read the last paragraph.

What about this magical 81mm bore size is so bulletproof? I think theres alot more to sleeving a block to be "bulletproof" than a magic 3.12" of missing material.

The block has been sleeved for about 3 years now. before 83,84mm where the coolest thing ever to do. You can make plenty of power on a 81mm block. Blahblah
