Default a lesson in b00sting

Ok, i'm fairly new to this scene and i'm just getting used to the engines. I'm the owner of a 95 ls engine is stock so far. So far the cheapest/bestsounding/most feasable way to build quick whp is by going with a nice turbo setup. I'm wondering which is probably the most reliable set up mechanically, and if were to rebuild the bottom end would i be able to run 15lbs, i'm assuming without rebuilt internals i would we able to run around 6-8 safely without breaking anything. This won't be for a while, and i'm not wasting money on bolt on's etc, for the ricers whopping "30whp yo'" ... to sum it up

1. Best way to attack a b18b in regards to rebuilding internals mainly bottom end (im assuming its cheaper).

2.What turbo setup to run (company/make/etc.)

Post all your knowledge about this operation..
Thanks alot guys

This would be a much better question to ask the forced induction forum.

If you rebuild with better internals you should run around 20lbs. 15lbs with stock internals... it might be possible if your tune was out of control but I doubt it. More than likely it'll blow. Stock stick with about 7-8 lbs. Don't be tempted to up it "just another pound" cause sooner or later it'll blow.

As for what kit. Man... do the research for yourself and build your own from the pieces and parts that you want.

Makes sense, I'm just trying to get past experiences from people, just to make my decisions better/safer. I don't think i'd ever run 15 lbs on these internals! I'd have to be looking to blow it up 7-8 is safe for me for now, until i rebuild. Getting an idea of what everyone else has done will help me "piece my own together" thanks for the help though.

Its not how many lbs of boost, its in the HP and how good of a tune in which the motor will last. Look up the LS-T/LST thread it has about 150+ pages of good info.

is there anything wrong with just dropping the money on a greddy bolt on kit? im thinking about that just because it has everything you need ready to go, and i dont want to be piecing **** together.

I can't see anything wrong with that man, that's the avenue i'm strongly considering going with that kind of a set up, I've witnessed too many of my buddie's getting kit's pieced together and realzing it's the wrong fitting's, piped dont fit etc. Something like that (greddy kit etc.) i'll have the money for, and it'll be easiar and by chance just look mighty fine with the blue and polished steel just staring up at me and begging to be driven...wow i dream too much:p.. can't wait!!!

As long as you replace the fuel management in the greddy kit. Might as well just piece your own one together, a lot less costly.

Quick question....I'm a newb but I have a turbo setup not yet tuned, and running roughly about 7psi, as my friends say, and my boost gauge says. But if I dont get on it to hit the boost how long do you think I will be able to run w/o gettin on it?
