Default Stupid mistake

Stupid mistake

The car has 182K then I changed my motor oil to Mobile1 now Radiator coolant become milk shake – now I don’t think my head gasket is bad, but synthetic oil somehow get to my cooling system.

Did I screw up the car, how do I fix this?

Thanks in Advance

milkshake in coolant = blown head gasket unless you poured oil directly into your radiator, which I doubt.

No I didn’t put oil in the Radiator

OK I just got my car back from EZ Lube – they changed engine oil no water founded any where. Then Flush the tranny no water founded, then Radiator oil all over it, now they flush the Rad using a machine.

Guy said drive around week or so, and then we’ll have to see if it’s a Head Gasket or anything else.

Other than H-gasket what else make this kind of problem?

Thanks

first of all, running the synthetic wasnt a mistake, all it has done is identify an already existing problem, if it is the headgasket (which it most likely sounds like it is), u may have caught it early before any serious damage was done

it was not a mistake using mobil 1 or JOE BLOW'S oil ,is not going to cause oil to get into the radiator,, no matter what weight or brand of oil you use,,

Do Not drive car around a week or so,, i cannot believe they said that ,,

there is an issue there.........have a shop do a leak down test,, do not wait for it to cause more, possably expensive problems

Thanks for the quick reply, yes I will get the leak down test, so far no oil coming to the Rad, drew around 200km today, no overheating, everything very smooth at the moment

u can also remove the radiator cap and start the car, if the coolant is bubbling then its prolly the hg (unless u have a coolant leak somewhere else)

Yes I removed radiator cap and rev to 3000 rpm no bubbling – it just nicely flowing (I know what is look like – I saw this when my car was brand new) also if HG gone then I should have water in the Oil pan right?

I didn’t have any water in the oil pan and I don’t have coolant leak anywhere – I lift the car and check every where using 1500W Halogen Lamp

Anyhow I will not rule out Head Gasket

If I see more Milky coolant then I am going to take Engine Head off and change the Gasket. (I never done these types of serious jobs (except timing belt) – but if someone know how – please give me some info on HG replacement – yes I do have Helms Manual but Hands on always better)

johnny872005:
Take your coffee mug and put some Engine Coolant then add half cup of engine oil – you will see Milkshake (and that’s what I had in my Radiator this morning
