Default AEM V2 SRI?

Hey well I searched and couldn't find too much... but is there anyone out there with an AEM V2 SRI on a 06 RSX Type-S? I'm thinking about purchasing one and just wanted some input... thanks in advance.

There are lots of people on clubrsx.com. Everyone's going to tell you to get a cold air on there but get what you want. I had an Injen SRI for awhile but I go tired of it heat soaking all the time and went AEM CAI.

Don't go with the short ram, it does increase hp, but you are still sucking in hot engine compartment air. The cold air is the way to go to get the most.

until conclusive evidence proves otherwise, SRI will always be best. unless you race under 15mph.

there is conclusive evidence...
http://performance.clubrsx.com/intaketest25.html

the article proves u get more power from the injen CAI, which is off a dyno-testing machine, the cold air gets even more power when you actually drive it on the road/freeway because more air is flying into the intake, while the AEM V2 intake will still be sucking the hot air in the fairly coveredup engine bay.

Injen Cold Air Intake ALL THE WAY!

too bad dyno does not account for real engine bay temps at anything over 10-15mph...

again... conclusive evidence.

Well, living in Jacksonville I noticed a power gain from switching from my mega ram short ram Injen intake to my AEM CAI. The engine bay would always just produce too much heat when driving around daily driving and whenever I wanted to get on it the engine would bog due to heat build up. Now, if I was highway cruising and then floored it it might be similiar, but 90% of the time I floor it it was driving around on the street and it would bog. I never have that problem with my cai.

Thanks a lot for the info guys... I guess we'll see what happens. I like the simplicity of the SRI... but the CAI sounds like it gives you more bang for the buck. Thanks again

the faster you drive, the hotter its's gonna get in the engine bay, which is where the SRI is, but the CAI is outside the engine bay sucking in cool air thats flying towards it, simply physics bro.

'simply physics' needs some simple brains... bro. back to school for you!

Yes there is air flow through the bay, but not nearly the capacity of were the cold air is sucking from. Wouldn't you think a charge from an outside air filter would be cooler than the charge from the cluttered up rsx engine bay? Even with the air box gone there is still very little room under there.

i had a short ram for 2 years and in the winter it kicked *** but *** soon as it got above 50 degrees outside it sucked *** so i finally switched to a AEM CAI, personally i love it i acually felt a increase in low end torque (very little but it there) and ive noticed that when it get around 70's i dont bog when i get on the gas or anything, i would honeslty suggest the Cold Air over the Short ram anyday even if people say its a bad idea (btw AEM over INJEN too just my preferance)

What are you guys talking about "bogging"? I have never had my engine "bog" while using an SRI. Short ram is the way to go. It is more versatile, requires less maintenance, sounds better, and still provides a reasonable amount of power increase vs. stock.

short ram produces way less power and is way louder... CAI is best, V2 is kinda a waste, if your gonna do something like that... J's Racing...

My vote goes for SRI - it costs significantly less with moderate power gains... I also kinda don't have a choice since I live up in Oregon where you see rain just as much - if not more - than sunshine.

were talking about the Aem V2 intake which is way more expensive then the Injen CAI, even though the CAI gives better gain

Not to mention that the v2 goes up and curls down right next to the headers.
