Default B16a1 obd 0 to OBD 1 conversion, whats needed?

Hey guys,

I am running a 1990 si with a JDM b16a1 (mods include skunk2 intake mani, type R header, custom 2.25 exhuast to an Apexi N1 muffler, MSD ignition, and an AEM cai) and I want to convert it from OBD-0 to OBD-1. The current ECU in a j-spec PR3. I was just wondering exactly what i would need to convert from OBD-0 to OBD-1

Thanks alot for the help guys, and any input is appreciated

you need the p30 ecu off of a 94-95 b16, 92-93 gsr distributor, 4-wire o2 sensor....and umm...i think that's it. that's all i needed for my old car anyway. you should just change your wiring harness by cutting and resoldering the correct wires to ecu pins.

when you have your ecu, just hook up the 4-wire o2 sensor, should just be 2 additional wires from ecu to the sensor...assuming you're using a one-hole exhaust manifold. the 92-93 gsr dizzy can be rewired easily, just match colors of the wires...that's it...nothing else needed

Thanks alot for the info, it really cleared things up. A few questions though

can i use a p28 as opposed to a p30?

My exhuast mani is a one hole o2 sensor, but i have another one one my cat, should i just weld a bung over that?

Is the gsr dizzy a direct fit (I imagine it is)

and instead of cutting and soldering is it possible i could just get a boomslang conversion harness?

you can use any obd1 ecu as long as its programmed to run a b16. i used a 99 civic si header and the o2 sensor was by the cat, so i think you should cover up the hole in your header and use the hole by your cat, but i could be wrong. two of the three pegs match up with the jdm b16. the harness may work, i've never used a boomslang. my experience with harnesses are mixed...i ordered a harness thinking it was plug and go, but had to rewire it anyway...its up to you to make sure the harness is correctly pinned to your individual engine harness
