Plate Covers?
I was wondering if anyone knows if tinted plate covers are legal in NJ? Maybe you guys think these are lame lol but I wanted to get a pair, but I dont want to be pulled over for it. So, anyone know if I can use these in NJ??? Thanks for any info.
I tried the DMV website, google, this site, etc.

not sure about NJ but technically illegal...even the clear ones are technically illegal...if I remember correctly anything that covers or obstructs a license plate is illegal
i dunno, cuz i just feel like it. i'm keeping my civic stock except for like the shift ****, maybe a short shifter, and an extra 12inch sub. other then that no engine work, nuthin. i saw the tinted plate covers and thought mayeb that too. any idea as to the law?

yeah I can totally understand why you'd want them...I have them on all of our cars (cept the rex) I think it really gives a finished look...nice black metal frame with the smoked cover...looks good imo... I have honestly never had a cop give me a hard time over one...but dont be suprised if they do...if you car is basically stock looking...and you dont drive like mad max...you'll be fine....or not.
