in obd-0 it should be 2 wires. 1 one is black and the other is yellow/green. The black goes to a ground and the yellow/green to the radiator fan relay.

no, it shouldnt matter. on obdo motor the fan switch is on the back of the block on obd1 car the fan switch is on thermostat housing, it has nothing to do with the ecu it just turns the fan on thats it

ok that makes sense now to me thank you but i still have an issue as the plug is not the same, i can chage it but i need to know which wire needs to go on top and which needs to go on the bottom, i already extended the wires, so the only thing left is figuring out which wire goes where. anybody know?

order doesnt matter. switch just completes the circuit. either way will work

thanks so much, it was really bothering me that no one seemed to know, could the fact that i did not have this sensor pluged in befor be the reason why everytime i turn on my car the temp sensor would max out?

Like Crx Jimmy said, the order doesnt matter

And as for your last question, the answer is yes. If the fan doesnt turn on, there is no way that the coolant in the radiator will cool down and your engine will just get hotter and hotter. After you connect the sensor, let the temperature go to the middle and wait a few more minutes until the fan turns on, just keep an eye out on the temperature gauge so it doesnt overheat.

Had th same problem we swapped a B18b into my rex I'm still OBD0 and my friend said I didn't need it well my fan never turned on and after a few runs at the track and let my car idle for a little it over headed and puked coolant...

the OBD0 sensor is on the back of the block had a rubber cover over it was 2 wire I though it was like brown and green/yellow but I may be wrong I had to extend the wires to reach the thermo housing, the sensor has the same plug as like 2 or 3 other so i just got one at the JY and r wired it...now my fan turns on but I also found a hole in my rad so i just orders a new JK cross member and a alum rad and slim fan

I can get you some pics if you need HTH

well I got a bunch of stuff, Alum 1/2 rad, 12"slim fan JK crossmember, and then B series head flange, T3 flange, and 5 bolt echaust flange to make a mani and DP all ran a little over $500 but well worth it, I am excited because I have Konis and GC coils and putting the ES bushings in soon too the car is gonna handle amazing, hoping to put some nice 60' times if i get traction

i agree my only question with this is i tested the obd0 sensor from the back of the block i got no ohms just like .08 volts tested the sensor from a b20b in the thermostate housing and got no volts but read 3. ohms my question is for now is are they the same type refrenceing sensor i understand the way the fan relay system works just didnt know if they worked diffrentlt to acomplish the outcome------------
