High RPM at 74 mph on highway (5th gen lude)
My 1997 Prelude SH does about 3.7k RPM at 74 mph (120 kmh) on the highway and I was wondering if other 5th gen owners were getting the same thing because at 3.7k RPM, my gas tank gets empty pretty fast. I bought it used, so I dont know if anything was changed. Any ideas?
that would be normal for the 5th gens
~3k @ 60
~3.5k @ 70
~4k @ 80
At first I also thought that would eat gas way too quickly, but suprisingly after a 300 mile trip at ~75mph, I ended up a little over 31mpg

That's normal. You should be getting about 26mpg on the highway, atleast.

Thats good to hear. I was telling people that I was getting 3.7k and they were pretty surprised, but they dont know much about cars. Its just fun to see their reaction when I tell em every time
random question, but would I be able to find a 6 spd tranny that would fit the h22 or can I add on a 6th gear? or am I just dilusional and stop dreaming in my fantasy world

dilusional, u can either change the final drive gear or get larger diameter tires if you want to lower the rpms for any given speed
