well you have a chance.. because chances are if they bought a v6 mustang they
1. will possibly suck at driving.. or
2. arent really racing you..
edit: okay i thought id add a little personal experience... my brothers automatic LS ran a 16.8 with intake and exhaust.. im guessing yours is manual.. but id assume it would still be in the 16s.

I have witnessed a stock LS run 15.8s in 90 degree weather. The key is to know your car, and drive it well. I have ran mid to high 14s in my GS-R with bolt-ons.

i ran a 15.8 in my I/E DA, and im not a very good driver. i only had a 2.4 60 foot, which is pretty bad, so im thinking my car is capable of mid 15s.

I think that you'll have a chance, but slightly be the underdog. I raced a brand new 2000 Mustang V6 (I didn't want to but had to for a friend who knew a guy who said all FWD imports were slow) when my GS-R was completely stock. The whole quarter mile race was close until the end of the quarter where I started pulling on him like he stopped. I knew how to drive the GS-R when it was stock very well though. I pulled 15.1 my first time to the track at California Speedway, Fontana with very minor weight reduction and a "sock" intake.

With I/H/E, cheap *** tires, and at the time Tein SS coil-overs, on my 1994 DB8 (4 door GS-R with full interior, and spare tire) I ran a best of 14.72 @ 93mph. I can run 14's every time out to the track.

Gs-r stock at 15.7 we all know gsr's are faster then ls. Only way to find out is to run it. Just dont expect to run mid 15's</TD></TR></TABLE>

No one is magazine racing, just because u ran 15.5 doesn't mean the average LS will do it too. An average stock GSR will run mid 15s, an average LS will run low 16s... some may be slower some may be faster. I ran 14.9 on my gsr with stock tires stock motor, full interior, with only a suspension set up....but that doesn't mean the guy down the street with a gsr can pull the same time.
