Anyone coming out to Phoenix for this? Should be a good time, I know the GOTO Racing guys are running and I'm probably gonna help Sam H. in the Time Attack...plus I sell insurance and Gainsco is the title sponsor...so I get VIP too...post up if you're gonna head this way, and need somewhere to crash!

I'm flying out tommorow morning early and will be there in time for the first GA practice. I here we get to drive against some JGTC guys in a speedsource car. That will be a treat.

I'll be out there helping the Team Cobalt California guys out. It's my first time helping out this team, but I am really, really looking forward to it. I'm not flying out of Columbus until 6:30am Friday morning, but hopefully I'll still be there by the time anything gets started that day.

 

I'll be there with a bunch of friends that are noob to the racing world. Yay.

I understand that JGTC is cool and all, but there should be some other awsome racing out there.

ST and GS have split races, so that should mean that the ST race will be filled with green flags, and the silly GS drivers can have there crash fest.

Also watching the DP and GT cars is pretty damn cool.

but im not traveling to phoenix for this.

In my experience, that track is hot all the freakin time...

it's not gonna be as hot as it was last time you guys were here...but yes...it will be a warm weekend.

 

I'll be hanging out --- alot of the Phoenix club racers are doing the GT Live event and a couple are running the GAC ST race.
I blew up my ITR motor last Friday at FIR : O so no GT Live for me---

A.. new motor is already in the works-----

According to PIR's schedule and Grand Am's schedule, on track activities don't start until 1pm on Friday. All I know for sure is that ST isn't on track until 3pm and my plane lands at 10:20am. How far is the track from Phoenix's airport?

 

Wish I could attend, I have finals that week

It's about 30 mins west on I-10.

I'll be up there Saturday helping out GOTO if they still need me on crew. Anyway, I'll be up there all day either way. After the ST race, I'll try to get around a little and see how many of you guys I can find/meet.

Paul B - WTF? Man, just give up on that damn ITR. It's been nothing but trouble for you. Sell that POS and come run H4 with us. You could buy that socal H4 CRX for what a new ITR motor is gonna cost you.

I had a fun time driving the Hasport Civic Si and the big turbo 4door (450WHP) at PIR-

It will be interesting what the Spoon car does at PIR this weekend---

Mike now has a biult B20 in the CRX and laid down 1:09.5's and .6's on Sat/Sun---
on Toyo's and Kumho's---- maybe with the cooler air and a new set of Kumho's the 8's

It ended up being better for all of us to collectively skip the May weekend. We wanted to keep points close, so we didn't want to run unless everyone was going to be able to. So here's our collective list of excuses:

Jon - Rear brake failure at FIR, plus having motor problems and can't find time/space to work on the car.
me - Wanted to get a head start on my motor transplant, plus had a suspension failure at FIR that I need to address.
Tom - Blew his motor at FIR and it's still not back together yet.
Paul P - His racecar was totalled in a towing accident. We found a shell for him and they're going to do the reconstruction this summer.
Erik - Just changed jobs and wanted to save some cash, plus had nobody to run with.
Danny - Is in a world of hurt with his car.

We had talked about running CRA for the rest of the year after the April NASA weekend, but I think more than likely we'll end up running the fall NASA schedule.

I can't wait to see Mike's new setup this weekend. I hear he's rockin a new paint job along with the new motor. I'll find you guys in the paddock on Saturday. I should be up there around 10 or so.

Hey now.. that's not so nice.... reality hurts sometimes!

I may actually start to slowly make my attempt to run again! I am expecting a check from Fed-ex in a week or so for my lost final drive! So with this money I can get the tranny parts and get that back together!

If I am going to have a good tranny I guess I will see if I can salvage the old engine.. if not I will slowly start to build a new one.

Once the engine and tranny are in I think I am just going to drive the car to Norcal to get the cage!

At least there is a plan now! Getting a new final drive with the fed-ex check gave me motivation to work on it again!
