Default Noob question: common problem with 4th gen prelude

Search, read and still need more info.

My gf is picking up a 4th gen prelude, it fits her budget and i just want to make sure i got all the basic down.

Like title said, what should i look for for the 4th gen prelude.

rust spot? tranny grind? pop out? electrical probelm? leaks? compression number? wear spot on the interior, etc.

thanks in advance

Glad I'm not the only one, and ABS, power antenna, 2nd gear syncro, HVAC controls(mine has trouble switching from vents uptop to feet), and my windsheild wiper motor went out the other day but IDK if that is common.

When i got mine... i had

1.) Exhaust leak - Got a new exhaust
2.) Broken A/C - I'm really hot.
3.) Broken door switch panels - Really annoying ( when i close the door hard they pop out. wtf.)
4.) Shift boot was romped.
5.) Weather stripping.
6.) Power antenna always up.

Besides that...the **** is awesome!

Don't want to totally jack the thread, but this does seem to happen with 4th gens. You guys should look into resoldering the board in your climate controls. Thought my A/C was busted and the blower wouldn't switch from "defrost". Resoldered my climate control board and voila!, A/C is like ice and the blower will change just like it's supposed to!

The climate controls on my '92 Si are pretty much crap now. And I have a major freon leak. I just went ahead and removed the a/c and all I have left is the heater.

Weather trim is horrible.

My power antenna sticks up when it's really cold.

My car doesn't really have any rust on it that I've seen besides the header/exhaust flanges.

lol mine had all the same except only 1 switch panel is broke well cracked.
also it may just be mine but try starting the car numerous times in a row in the heat. something about the main relay being bad and having small cracks when it expands in the heat it has a hard time starting. sometimes on a hot day if i go to start the car right after i shut it off it wont start.

I've got an exhaust leak, as do two other preludes that I know of. Mine's at the start of the flex pipe.
