HELP i cant get a b18a out of this 90 teg.
Ok i think ive got Everything out. 4 motor mount bolts, shift linkage, all vacuum and harness wires. The damn thing just WONT come out. Am i retarded or is it just that hard. I had 3 people over trying to get it out and just got nothing. My alternator is hitting my brake booster pretty hard but its still not whats jamming it. any suggestions?
Yea exhaust is off, i took the bolt off the motor mount for the L bracket. Do i need to take it fully off the motor? ive only delt with civics, this DA is so damn tight inside its crazy.

Isn't there 5 mounts total? 4 in the front, and then the firewall mount,
or did you describe that as something else in your post?

there may be a mount where the old ac condensor was, i know there are 4 mounts, the driver side, passenger side, firewall rear mount and the front tranny mount
the passenger side is a bitch because the mount on the fram curves over so youre gonna have to wiggle that around a little and usually lift the motor up more on the driver side to manuver it out of the tranny mount

It would help if the header were off as well. Load leveler is a must. Not sure if you did it or not, but take off the motor mount on the engine too.
you can keep the alternator, L-bracket, and header on. the problem your having is you have to angle the motor out so it will clear the master cylinder. pull it towards the front abit.
trust me ive done this many a time on a Da.

it also helps to have the chains set so the engine pivots like this.
thats my car during a gsr blcok/b16 head swap

I would pull fromt he bottom but all i got is a cherry picker and 2 small jacks lol. Also the guy that pulled one from the bottom i heard he had to cut a tie rod.
thanks fellas. This has ac, the tranny side is the one being a bitch. and i tried taking off the mount on the tranny but one bolt was spinnig and thats when i quit last night.
Ill try putting the engine hoist chain on how you said so we can spin it some.

I find it easier. More space to work with. I left the alternater and the L-bracket on. Angle on the motor is important. I done many swap on Da as well.
ProjectTeG Good Info
H22HatchEG Hope you get your motor out.

I got it guys thanks a ton. I found the exhaust was snaggin a little so i pulled the engine really far forward on the drivers side and it took a little jiggling but it slid out. Thanks fellas.
