rollin hatchless?
hey, I know this is sorta a stupid question, but hey I'm a stupid person...so yea anyways. With the nice weather comming I was thinking, it sure would be nice to have a targa top of a convertable...my car doesnt even have a sunroof. BUT I was wondering if it would be alright to drive around with the hatch off the car. I dont plan to autoX with it like that or anything, I just think it would be cool to do for a day. I know its part of the structural integrity of the car and such, but would it be completely illigal if I took it off and drove around like that for a bit?
Also I've never attempted to remove my hatch, is its a sevear pain in the butt, like enough to make me not want to do it? or is it a simple job? please help, thanks

large slabs of glass like that are heavy.. do whatever makes you happy.. as long as you have a 3rd tail light its not illegal, i doubt the cops will care anyways.
the cops around here are dumb as ****, we dont get pulled over and checked for carb legal intakes and stuff, there to fat and lazy. I think I could get away with it.
So does anyone actually have any experience taking one off? I'm just gona make sure I take off the hatch cover too, so that doesnt like blow off in the wind, but I cant really see it being a problem.

yea but, broncos are designed that way, structurally there still safe if the car where in an accident or roll over, the teg would probley not hold up as well without it.
AHHH I hope there isnt any wire to cut, lol I never even really looked. If I have to do that I guess Ill just wait till the day I get my cf hatch.

yes there are wires you have to cut for the rear wiper. the hatch is not a stuctural member, the car will handle the same with it on or with it off. however, it may act strange because of all the air that will be running through the interior of the car, might cause lift making things dangerous.
please do it and send pics cause i was thinkin the same thing bro there is one wire u ned to cut but we all know how to wire it back so once u do it tke a shitload of pics ull be like a god ha this is why we love hondas people who drive fords the coolest thing they do is... wait there is nothing cool ab out fords
you dont have to cut any wires, on the top right corner theres a Plug that u can unplug it'll d.c ur whipers(or not not too sure bout that) & defroster i took mines out before because i had to replace the back window
you would have to disonnect the wire harness which trails from the top right rubber boot all the way to the inside of the rear quarter panel..taking it out isnt too bad..its running the harness back in that gives you trouble.. GL with whatever you decide
My car doesnt have a rear wiper, and my tint is so dark on the back hatch to be honest I'm not sure if the 3rd brake light even works really. So honestly the only thing I care about is the rear defrost. Thanks for all the info fellas. I'm gona do er up soon, Ill deffinitally take some pics for yall.

From my experiences, with the hatch off and driving, exhaust fumes tend to make it into your car. How, I have no idea!
When someone decided to rear end my old hatch (took out the whole rear window), it was hard to drive around without getting carbon monoxide poisoning
