Default lsd differential options for M2a4

Well, my buddy and I bought an h22a swap from naganojapanase in NY. It turned to be a decent swap for his 95 accord lx, except for the tranny. We paid for the LSD, but felt like i got shafted because it turned out to have some kinda differential problem. It would make a loud popping noise even when we would bearly move it at the slight turn of the steering wheel. Definately not drivable! In the meantime, we installed a local junkyard special from 95 accord a 5 spd just to get it on the road. What do you guys suggest i should do about the lsd tranny? Rebuild the whole thing or just the differential? What about average cost for either or?
