shift linkage opinions
ok i got a ls swap, ive had this linkage since i got the swap, and to me, it seems cheaply made, honestly i dont remember what kind it is, but its no name brand thas for sure. and b-series linkage to me looks badly designed compared to h-series linkage. anyways ive heard of avid/ hasport linkage, and hasport is not selling em seperatly from their motor mounts cuz of the demand. is avid worth it? or is there some other brand i dont know about thas good.
ive got a teg one that a guy cut for me... he used it on his car then he wrecked it and its got a slight dent in the bar... he said it still worked. if you want it let me know.
And me I have the hasport one I like it but have no experience with the avid... Got the hasport used on here with the mounts from another member.

I'm using the hasport one so i dont know anything about it, just that its there. also a google search showed someone selling hasport ones on ebay here:

i recomend the az race , i went from a homemade b series linkage to the az and its a total difference, i used energy shift bushings, and b4 the shift was sloppy and all over the place, now the shifting is Direct stable and very smooth. i couldnt believe how much of a difference that made shifting...... i also have the AZ race motor mounts, and i went from hasport to AZ and those too are great products, the rear motor mount on the AZ are much much more solid than the HASport, the hasport are really good, but these mounts too are very good.... they claim using both linkage and mounts improve the overall shifting, not sure what kinda mounts u have

i thouht the h-series have shifter cables..? the az race machine linkage is good also,,i remember when that thing was $75 shipped,,,hasports are good also..those and a modified integra linkage are the only ones ive used so i cant comment on others

the reason why ur new linkage feels more direct than ur old one is not cuz of the actual linkage its cuz u swapped out the crappy fatigued stock shifter bushing for a new one...i run cut n weld linkage in mine and it shifts perfect..i even fabbed linkage for my boys eg and it works just fine...unless u had a total piece of **** i cant see why it would be any different

well mine was cut and weld also. perfectly done. but for some reason when it was in gear it had alot of play in the shifter, and you almost had to guess where the gear would be, i bought a complete AZ race kit from as guy off honda tech and then added Energy shift bushings, so basicly i got the linkage free with the mounts, but yea it just feels alot better. if he could have someone cut and weld and do it perfect more than likly it would be just as good as Aftermarket

like i said before...thats due to a fatigued shifter bushing...it has nothing to do with the actual linkage

az claims their kit (linkage and mounts) work together and make shifting better. i guess i could believe it if the mounts make the motor sit back farther or whatever. or making the motor more stable helps with shifting?
