a 96? you sure it'll work. Might have to do some serious modifications - might as well just boost your car. I think that supercharger is meant for 97+

i've only seen one 4th gen with a jrsc

its also a fully jdm right hand drive one too

there are some brackets you have to mess with/buy

just turbo unless you know what you are doing

more than one 4th gen w/ a JRSC but yes, rare. "CAZ" i believe was the forefronter of this but there have been others and it does require some serious modification/custom brackets.

as for your '96 being and SH? no, dont worry about that, if you wanna go "easy" go with a turbo (both SC and turbo are "boost"), if you wanna be different, put in the time/effort and go with the JRSC or, put in some real time and go centrifugal supercharger, like I'm going

you should change internals but some say your fine running 7-8psi on a stack block. I wouldn't.

The setup looks nice.
Anyone have numbers on the JRSC H22 since H22A.org is down?
Also anyone have the link for CAZ brackets for the charger?

Well with the A/C removed all its going to be is a matter of the right sized fan belt, unfortantly i do not have a number for you. AEM pulley on the alternator WITH A/C compressor in place i do have a number for you. I bought a JRSC off a guy that lost some parts that i would end up not using anyways, heh, but yea, non-SH for me. Uh it fits tight, gotta know how to fabricate things and good at problem solving to attempt this. What i mean more or less is, throw out the JR's instruction manual cause nothing is going to go the way is says in that printout.

Project difficulty on the 97+: Mechanically inclined with the instructions.
Project difficulty on the 92-96: Gotta know how A & C, then B go together without something telling you how. So i would say mechanically adept to journyman.

Oh and kiss off using JR's electronics. Not gonna work. So you better have fuel management or you might as well just paypal that money to me.

i doubt there is a stock header under that cover. Yeah i see this kit goin onto a 4th as not too much of a problem. i mean, the engines are the same essentially and the pulleys and most connectors should be the same. Internals are the same too (not enought to make a difference) so it should function the same. Only challenges are the packaging constraints. Some strategic hammering and a couple trips to a machine shop for bracketry should take of it. BUT here I am saying all this without any first hand experience. I did do the jdm swap into a 4th gen twice all by myself so i do know the engine bay pretty well tho.

No prolly wouldnt work too well on an H23 because the SC was designed and calibrated to push 7-8 (?) pounds of boost into the VTECs 2.2 liters. Not 2.3 liters. However, now that i think about it, if boost from a F/I unit is used on a larger engine than it was designed for, the boost will only be lower in the larger volume. Soooooo maybe you could use it on the H23 and just run lower boost OR get a smaller pulley to spin the SC faster. I mean as we heard before, you'd have to use a new feul map anyway so you should easily be able to make the different tune for that engines' different fuel needs. I wouldnt think that the absence of VTEC should matter at all. But of course since i dont understand electronics too well i'm sure there is some stupid major wiring difference between the two. Though i can't think of too many from the swaps i've done. There's my crazy *** theory.

Yah I remember reading long ago about Caz's supercharged 4th gen. IIRC, he mentioned something about bringing a big part of the firewall back

Actually he didn't touch his firewall. I know this because the 1st and 4th pic in this post is from my car. He manufactured different brackets so you could install the SC without hitting the strut tower. That was the clearance issue with the 4th gens.
