Default Hybrid CRV Project

Hey All,

I'm considering converting my old Honda '97 CRV into a hybrid. It doesn't seem that difficult to do if I just disconnect the drive shaft from the front transmission to the rear differential, and then mount a motor on the rear differential. Any thoughts on this? How can I trick the front transmission into NOT trying to power the rear differential (since the drive shaft would be disconnected)... I think there is some sort of hydraulic sensor in there.

Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks,
Brian

I dont know this for sure but I would imagine that if your best bet would be to get a CRV that has a B20 engine so you could use a FWD trans from another B Series engine.
