i'd probably change the fluid before you start taking it apart.

this definitly sounds like the throw out bearing, sounds like the spring might have came off, i had the same problem mine wouldnt go into any gear or if it would it was really hard, and resverse grinded every time..... throw out bearing was gone
good question!!!
another question do i have to take the axle out of the wheel hub because am looking at a manual it doesnt tell me to take it out of the hub its just showing me to take out of the tranny and then that i have to remove the right side tie rod and my header pipe but i have dc sport headers 4-1 which was a pain to put in because of the cross member and my question do i have to remove all that to get the tranny??

Do you have a reputable shop that houses a certified mechanic? That may be your best avenue until you are more familiar with everything. If possible work with the mechanic and he can possibly lay the basics down.
thats what i dont want to do i got my honda mechanic but he be mad busy and taking to long to fix my car when his parking lot is packed so thats why i mean i can do it but am just double checking to be sure
do i have to take the axles out to get the tranny out well i know the asles have to come out but what i mean is out of the wheel hub??
did u try to put it it to first before putting it in reverse??...try to put it in another gear before u blame something big...
as far as the grinding....if it is only sometimes...try putting GM synchromesh fluid in it...
If it still doesnt go into reverse...u probably have a bent shift fork....so 5th will go soon to

well i tryed first n second and nothing but earlier i turned on the car and when i step on the clutch and it sound it like the clutch was spinning and the pp had just stopped the clutch from spinning so i dont know if the pp or clutch or throw out bearing is gone
well if, there are a few options here, play with the clutch cable , loosen it tighten it, if it doesnt make any difference, then i would go into the clutch, check pressure plate, disc, bearings ect. clutch cables dont have alot of other ''exterior'' problems like a hydro would, basicly its the cable then the clutch assembly then the transmission basicly in that order, check the cable, check the pedal feel, if nothnig is better then it can only be the clutch or tranny
more than likly, i know people hate to come to terms with a major problem, but given the car is clutch cable, exterior problems are very few and normally once you rule those out next is the clutch itsself... and if i had to guess , yes i would say its a throw out bearing related problem
