Default I need help wiring EF8 headlights!

Hello, my rex is leaving the body shop either tomorrow or the next day and the body shop guys didn't want to screw up the wiring to my EF8 head lights that they installed into my car.

They said the stock wires have 2 connectors one regular light and the other for the highbeam. I beleive the EF8 has only one and was wondering if anyone new which stock color wires attach to the EF8 headlight wires?

Really appreciate anyones help...

i never really looked at the colors, but i was told that the colors of the wires are the same, you just have to connect the two ground wires coming from your original wiring two the single ground wire for the JDM plug. with the stock grounds splices together, you'll have three wires, just match the colors up.

on a side note, i didn't look at the wire colors, if i'm not mistaken, looking at the JDM plug from the rear, the left wire is your low beam, the top wire is your ground, the right wire is your high beam...don't quote me on that though. check your stuff when you get it back, you'll see. easier than it sounds bro.

Hey thanks a lot '24TEN' hopefully I'll get it right. I figure it shouldn't be all that complicated I just think it's a pain in the *** to have to keep guessing once I've soldered them together just to find out that it's not working.

Any other suggestions from the honda commitee?!?

thanks again...

no prob. if you look at this way, the grounds are black no matter what. so the only way you could mess up is having the other two wires reversed which would result in your highbeams on when you want your low beams and vice versa. good luck, trust me it's not difficult once you look at everything.

Sounds good bud thanks. So is there only one light housing for the EF8 headlights? If so, is there still highbeams? I haven't really looked at them closely yet b/c when I got the EF8 front clip I sent it straight over to the bodyshop.

thanks again!

yes, it's like the EG headlights, single bulb. and yes, you still have high beams. think of it like your rear brakelight bulbs. there are two filaments in there, one for constant, and one for when the brakes are applied. same as the H4H bulbs (goodluck finding some when you need them), two filaments, one for highbeam and one for low.

Hey 24ten, so you are saying that these "H4H" double filiment bulbs aren't that easy to find? I guess I won't be able to find them at advance auto or autozone right? Thanks again dude!

I guess my only choice then is to order them off the net. Hey are there any more common single filiment bulbs I could use in the mean time?

why would it be hard to find them? PasswordJDM.com sells H4H bulbs in hyper white and in yellow for a VERY fair price...and they also sell the H4H conversion harness for ur headlights too

give them a call, ask for Leo...really good guys over there

heh, that's what i'm referring to, kragen, pepboys, etc. don't have them. i got mine from a local shop for i think $50 give or take.

another option is to use regular H4 headlights. the drawback is that they won't fit without first modifying the housing or the base of the bulb (metal ring surface). i don't recommend that you modify the headlight housing. easiest thing is to hold out for the correct bulb.
