Default Replacing clutch, soak bearings overnight?

I have read that you should soak the throwout bearing in oil or grease prior to installation. Do you soak the input bearing too? What kind of oil, motor oil? I appreciate any info. Ryan

if you are replacing the clutch, you should go ahead and replace the throwout bearing and pilot bearing. For the small cost for peice of mind, its not worth reusing the old parts, unless they are almost new themselves. In any case, i have never heard of soaking them in grease or oil.

I always use new bearings etc, I guess I should have mentioned that.

I actually read it in some archived threads. People were saying to soak in oil overnight because the bearing has pours(spelling). Then when the bearing heats up it self lubricates. When it cools the oil absorbs back into the bearing.

I was just checking to see what others though or if the have done/heard of this.
