Should I go all the way with my DA? or 300zx?

When I first got the car last year, I wanted to go all the way (build the motor/tranny then go turbo). Now im having second thoughts if i should spend anymore time and money on a 16 year old ff car. I've been workin on it since i got it and im pretty much done w/ the suspension, interior and body work. and the motor is pretty well built; on top of that, i have the basic i/h/e bolt ons. it hauls *** for a non-vtec (i can keep up w/ h23 preludes
). At this point all im waiting to do is a paint job and a couple other maintenance issues and the car is fully restored. I've always wanted a 300zx...and i figure thats a better car w/ more potential and it looks better. i dont plan on letting go of the integra tho, thats just dumb. but my question is: is it worth it to keep going and fully "hook it up?" or save the rest of my money for the legendary nissan z-car?
a) you are on a honda board, more specifically, the integra section of the forum. i have a feeling the answers you recieve may be a little biased
b) you say you don't want to dump any more money into a 16 year old car, what year 300zx do you plan on purchasing?
c) 300zx are very hard to work on (engine bay=cramped)
d) you say your motor is "built" with I/H/E?
e) presonally, i would stay with the DA
f) this should be in GDD

the previous owner had the motor built (cams n springs)
i just did the i/h/e
plus i've driven a completely stock DA and it doesnt pull as strong as mine.

I feel the same way. I dont want to spend ridiculous amounts of money on my FF car that still wont be able to compete with the cars of today, which is why Im getting an MR2. Dont get me wrong, Im still keeping it because its a great car, but it wont be anything more than a reliable and fun daily driver without having to dish out $8k plus

still love the 'teg tho. i'll keep it as my daily driver.

i hope you plan on getting the TT Z. the NA ones are slower than my I/E DA; i found this out a few months ago
and if i were you, id keep the DA and build the Z; bone stock theyre quicker than a built DA, unless you get a pretty good turbo kit and tune, etc, which = $$$.

Its all about what you want. I'd say build the car and finish what you started. You've already got your feet a little wet in it,but its what you want. Hondas aren't for everybody same goes for nissan. The 300zx ESPECIALLY the damn twin turbo ones are very hard to work on,and tend to be a little trouble prone once they have some higher mileage. I love them too...

I own both. 93 Z TT and a 90 DA. You want honesty? The Z is a FUN car to drive. The acceleration and driving is incredible, the handling is beyond cool. My DA doesn't hold a whick to it performance wise.
Reality? I wouldn't choose a Z over a DA any day. The Z requires a level of work and general maintenance that is world beyond a Honda. Also, they are VERY expensive to modify. The turbos have to be custom built to fit in the tight space each side of the engine. Also they are fair weather cars - my Z is prone to rear wheel spin and being rather tail happy.
Short of it: Unless you got at least $3000 sitting around at ALL times for just repair of your Z, don't bother getting one. It will nickel and dime you to death. Stick with the DA.

I would rather dump money into a DA because they have cheaper parts
think in the long run: the ZX TT= premium fuel, poorer gas mileage, higher insurance rates, harder to find after market parts
I like to quote a magazine which states "Honda's are like having girlfreind you left because you always thought you could do better than her, but in the end you always come back to her" stated by an STI owner

nismo? lmao are you kidding me, honda owns them hands down, wow a 300zx TT, baught power cant do much after that unless you wana dish out 4k+ for a mild gain over stock. yes i admit rwd is a blast to drive, but with what ive heard from my friend's brother; the MoonScryer guy is 100% correct. i mean if your sad with you DA then sell it get another one or a dc2. i mean ya the zx is fast but its baught power not built . imo built over baught. just sell your header, get a turbo kit, build the block and own any zx u see. every nismo race ive seen(and experienced) honda always wins. nissan cant get any power outa their cars N/A they gata strap twin turbos to every car they got. just turbo your car if you truely want to get the true potiential from your teg man. tegs own all, boo 300zx boo skyline boo them all.

RWD is not better for handling, ask any seasoned track racer why this is the truth

rwd is better than front wheel drive at the track. its just that certain rwd cars still suck at handling compared to some fwd cars... but when it comes to handling a rwd format is usually best cause in a hard turn you can control oversteer and you dont usually get understeer in a rwd format....
fwd formats suck only cause of understeer...
thats what makes them lame at handling...
and since fwd cars dont have power in the rear if they over steer you can only take so much over steer before you lose control...
you know a lot of people are starting to make fun of the honda clan because it seems that a lot of the new kids are saying that fwd is as good or better than rwd....

I say go for the TT 300zx... much faster car. cooler looking than a g2. but... i wouldnt take what MoonScryer said out of consideration. he seems to be talking out of experience.
well the only main reasons why i want a zx tt is b/c it looks good, rwd, it's twin turbo, and yea, its a Z car. plus the whole FF setup is really getting tiresome, and what other honda provides an alternate setup? I can't afford an S2K haha. i wanted a prelude for a while, then i found out im as fast as the h23's. then again, prelude is another FF car. i wont even consider getting any domestics unless its some REAL v8 american muscle. i can't stand mazda's, im done w/ mitsubishi's (what a headache), and the only toyota i would get is an mk3 mr2 (like i'd ever find one tho). subaru? maybe, but i really dont know too much about 'em. dont get me wrong, i love integras; watch me end up getting a dc teg in the end haha.
