My 1st CRX + Swap Questions
I'm picking up a 90 SI crx shell for $175 tomorrow. The only thing it is missing is the engine/tranny. There is the typical honda rust on it, not a big deal. I want to swap an F22 into it, since I have one lying around. That means that I would need an h-series motor mount kit. I was wondering if any of the motor mount kits for a 92-95 civic will work for the swap. The only reason I ask, is because they are alot cheaper. If not, who makes some decent yet cheaper swap kits?

the only reason I was going with the f-series is because that engine was supposed to go into my Accord, but that car isnt finished yet. I figured I would drop that in there for the time being, then when the Accord was finished, put it back in there and pick up a motor for the CRX. how much does a d16 usually cost? I'll just pick that up if it isnt to expensive ...
Hasport makes a H/F series mount kit.

I'm pretty sure H and F series are the same..
It will be a job, but it's obviously possible.

WTF? The F engine weighs maybe 200lbs more then the D series out of factory, that's basically like being a fat ***, you don't need better suspension cause your a fatass no do you? No. Don't be fooled by the size, it's cheap *** aluminum, it doesn't weight alot, low density level
.
Now, scrap the F and throw in a D series for the same price a engine mount kit would cost you, maybe less!

Why are you guys discouraging him from doing it?!
If he wants to do it, do it- show everybody you have the skills.
If you don't do it, and put in a puney (comparativly) D series heart into it, you might regret it..?
My opinion:
since you already have the motor... go for it. but if you KNOW that your going to be pulling it out later, DON"T!!
It may not be worth your money to do it...
D and B series are great engines, and are MUCH, MUCH easier to install than H/F's. You might get close to $2,000 in custom parts, and that's if you do it yourself, leaving out a shop to do it!! not even to mention the wiring headaches you'll get...
just some things to keep in mind.
It's a tough job, but if it's something you wanna do, and since you already have that motor, it will be *slightly* cheaper, do it.
But don't listen to me.. I've never done a H/F series swap before. but if you search, you'll find tons of threads dealing with them..

yeah I was doing my research, that's why I asked. I read a thread on here about the h-series engines waying only 35lbs more than a b/d series engine. That's why I went toward using my f22 + the extra 30ish hp/tq. I do know a decent amount about cars (not as much as I wish though) and have the friends to help me with any swap that I do. I def appreciate everyones input though. I'm picking up the shell (minus motor and tranny) for $175, so I'm just weighing out my options. I'm def leaning toward a d16 though, since there is a wide variety of parts on the market for it.
