Just got done installing the python alarm...is this a trusted brand as referring to upgrading..I plan to install the back-up battery and any other additional measures in order to prevent theft..Please Help!
Python = Viper = DEI
Yes, they are trusted. By CC, BB, and all sorts of other retailers.
What are you begging for help for? You already bought the alarm I don't see why you need feedback after the fact. Why don't you tell us?

someone had mentioned that the python is a level lower than the viper..so my question is what kind of upgrades must be done in order to match the viper alarm set?
Actually the Pythons are the EXACT DAMN SAME as the Vipers with the exception of the color of the remotes and the word "Python" on the instructions.
For instance, Viper 791XV = Python 881XP.
I install both several times a week. Please don't make me repeat myself.

Its a lower level in terms of quality. DEI has multiple brand names so retailers in a close area can each carry a different "marketing level" of DEI product.
For example in my town, my shop was a dealer for Sidewinder, the shop down the street was Viper and the small shop was Valet. All the same product, just different marketing lines.

oh ok..cuz i have a clifford alarm system sitting around and was considering of just switching alarms..because the clifford comes with the 2 way pager as well..but thanks for the input
Why are you people being stupid? If it's the exact same alarm, how could it be any lower quality?
Clifford Matrix 3.5 = Viper 791XV = Python 881XP
carbon fiber colored remote, blue remote, black remote
Is it the quality of the plastic on the remote?
This is just one example of the same exact alarm on all three lines. I know of a few others. I've had them all in hand within a few days of each other. I have a 791 in my garage right now. I installed a 881 the day before yesterday. I have the installation manuals for each of them right in front of me. THEY'RE THE SAME. Explain this to me. Do they have different quality control standards? I've seen no evidence of it.
